Campaigns towards Forthcoming Nigeria Elections

As the campaigns leading to our 2019 elections draw to a close, it got me thinking.

I’m not a politician and so I have no attachment to any political party.

Politicians have been all over the place campaigning towards the forthcoming elections.

I’m a Nigerian of over 50years of age and all my life I’ve lived in Nigeria.

As a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria with several years of managerial responsibility in both public and private sectors, I could say I have some understanding of our economy

I feel very grateful and proud of my Nigerian heritage and thus my concern about everything that concerns her.

Based on all of the above I stated the candidates I’d support for the Presidential ticket.

Interestingly, those that felt I made a wrong decision could not proffer any reasons why I should swing to their side. Rather they went personal on me and threw all sorts of insults and curses. Fortunately curse without a cause would not stand!

The response I got only went to reaffirm the emptiness of a lot of the gimmicks going on under the guise of election campaigns.

Maybe that’s why there is a proliferation of fake information and high level of insecurity. People know they have nothing to offer and are scared silly.

May God forgive us and have mercy on our beloved country Nigeria.

Nigeria shall prevail in Jesus name. Amen.
