Knowing Our Environment

Let’s learn about our environment…

Have you ever felt clumsy when someone asks you about places within the environment you live and seek from you how to get to your place using the public transport system? You kind of go, ehmm, let me see…I really don’t know sha. The person goes “I should be able to find it. What’s the nearest bus stop?” And you laugh that funny laugh again “Na wa o. I no sabi”

To cut that crap out of my conversations I decided to go on a road trip to know my environment and the route there by public transportation. It was cool 😎 I tell you.

I saw my friend that often takes me around when I’m not driving and he tried discouraging me for my safety “Madam no go enter one chance o. Which kain waka you want do so?”

I walked to the bus stop. Now I know which 🚌 route to follow.

“Oya! Oya! Wole.” I entered the commercial bus. “Lo si waju!” “Your money” 😊

I observed the various stops. Noticed places people had asked me about and I appeared blank because it’s tough to be driving on Lagos roads and be observant of different stops and places. Going on this journey also gave me an opportunity to sit back (though not comfortable sha) and appreciate my environment.

At the end of the day I felt good because I’ve increased in knowledge and it didn’t even cost me much (Accountant in me talking 😜). One of my favorites is challenging myself and learning something new. Now I can easily direct people and I have a better understanding of my environment.

You may wish to try it too.

Shalom!
