Self Discipline is Key

No matter the quality and quantity of advise one gets, the impact depends solely on the recipient…what we choose to do with the advise or information at our disposal. Reminds me of the scripture that says faith without works is dead. It is our actions aka works that affirms what our faith is.

So I told myself I must loss weight and I started the journey. It has taken me years…I bought so many gym gears, enrolled at the Gym, embarked on diets, got frustrated some times and would pick up again. Had some very strong support team…always encouraging me that I can do it…also had those that would laugh and ask me which guy I am doing that one for? Some said, you can’t be talking about losing weight at this age. But I had to make a decision and act on it!

Food was a major challenge…to go without my favourite meals and I like food sha. And the efforts continued. Engaged a rider to teach me to ride a bicycle…yes at old age…hahaha, but it is never too late to learn anything. Then I had an accident that fractured my leg and there goes my weight loss regime. The fat piled on fast.

But I didn’t give up. As my health got better, I resumed. Cut down drastically on my food intake and made daily walks a life style. And voila! It has paid off! I look and feel smarter and such joy that comes from knowing that you’ve come so far because of self-discipline backed by God’s grace!
