Addiction Issues

Dear friends, we’ve got an issue. It’s staring us in the face…addictions. Addiction to drugs! Addiction to gambling! Addiction to pornography! Addiction to…you name it! Many of our youths/children/siblings are getting sucked into it. The cry is loud, clear and scary.

A friend shared the following narrative with and we would appreciate your advise.

“Help! My son smokes hemp!” My friend has called out. She continues…

“He is 20 years old, a 400-level pharmacy student. well behaved, helps with housework, and has good academic records. I found out by accident and my world became a city demolished. He says he uses it to study for exams and only smokes around exam time. He masks the smell by smoking cigarette afterwards. I am afraid to report him to my husband (who is not the boy’s father) because he might send the boy away from the house. I don’t want the police to be involved. What do I do? Where can one get help for this?”

We would have hoped this did not happen but it did. It is not peculiar to my friend. It’s rampant. It’s everywhere. Just look around you. We are however confident that together we can find the needed solutions.

Let’s hear from you please…What should she do? Where can we find help for this?
