God’s Perfect Timing

Ever wondered like I do quite often when this shall be seeing that time is ticking by? As days unfold and I look back I can confirm with certainty that God‘s timing is always perfect.

I go down memory lane to my days in Uni when I accompanied two of my friends to visit their friend that I was not too clear on what he does for a living. I remember him (their friend) asking me…”Don’t you want to be a millionaire?” I said No. “So what do you want?” he asked. I said I just want to lead a simple life.

Some years later after working a few years in the bank and gist was on going, the talk about millionaires came up and I asked my friends “Come o. Abeg what does it mean to be a millionaire?” They answered me. I thought about their answer and said they should please get serious because I hear people talk about it but I wasn’t sure what they meant. So they explained again. I did some mental calculations…”Oh!” I said. “So that means I am a millionaire!” It was not by my craving it. God’s perfect timing at work.

I recall a day I was watching a TV show and the sharp thought “When would I have my own child?” seeing that I wasn’t getting any younger…then according to God’s perfect timing I got a child to His glory. I didn’t have to scheme or manipulate or any of such.

As I was working and earning my keep, I listen to and watch the News and see women impacting their world…and I thought to myself “Would I ever have an opportunity for my voice to be heard? To be in a position in society where I can positively impact my world through diligence?” Well, who knows? And I continued with my work…then I got that call that my State needed me to come and occupy a strategic position… God’s perfect timing.

And as I write this I still have many of such questions I ask myself as I am often scared to share them with people (make them laugh me or give me funny advise?) I just know that my own water will not flow pass me, so I do not have any basis for seeking to drink another person’s, but would rather stay focused on protecting and preserving it. Let us learn to support each other as we keep watch over whatever assignment God has given us.

Like a song goes “Even when God is 4days late, He is still on time.”…May we learn and know to trust God more.
