Being a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria

My investiture as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD) took place on 19 October 2023.

CIoD is the apex professional body in Nigeria with the responsibility to cater for and represent Directors in their personal capacity across the various sectors in the Nigerian economy.

The Institute helps directors to fulfil their responsibilities for the betterment of business and society.

The core values of CIoD follows the acronym IMPACT

T-Teamwork

CIoD represents the views of its members locally, continentally and internationally, as a member of the Africa Corporate Governance Network (ACGN) and a full fledged affiliate of IoD (UK). It is also a member of the Global Network of Director Institutes (GNDI).

Becoming a member of CIoD is via an established rigorous process of eligibility of the applicants who must be directors in the public and private sector corporations.

I joined the Institute over eight years ago. I have served on various committees and I currently Chair the Electoral Committee of the Southern Zone of CIoD and a member of the Charter Transition Committee.

For me, being a Fellow of CIoD bestows on me a very high call to enhanced professionalism and board governance.All I have ever desired are platforms and opportunities to contribute my quota to the betterment of my environment and invariably society.

Onene Osila Obele-Oshoko comes with a strong executive managerial background with senior level experience and cross sector (private & public) exposure. She has strategic appreciation and vision; able to build and implement sophisticated plans with a proven track record explicitly supporting business needs. She is self-driven and self-reliant, sets aims and targets and leads by example, adopts collaborative approach with good interpersonal skills to engage, motivate and encourage others to adopt change. She is highly focused with a consistent track record of successfully delivering full lifecycle implementations to tight time schedules and within budget. Osila is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Chartered Institute of Arbitration, Institute of Directors UK, Nigeria Branch as well as Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), and has Masters in Business Administration as well as a Master of Laws in International Business to name a few. She is a philanthropist. She owes all solely to Jesus Christ, her Lord & Savior.
