About Maintaining Relationships

Relationships most often brings to our mind the friendship between opposite sexes but that’s not the case here.

I’m talking about relationship between any set of humans.

I’ve often heard so many counsel on how to maintain them; thinking about it recently I had another view.

Let me share it with you, my friend.

My thoughts went to a tree. It grows and its leaves sprout. Along the way some wither and fall off and new ones sprout but the tree keeps growing.

The creepy trees get entangled and are often cut off to allow other trees grow to their full potential. And the likes of the Iroko tree as well as the tree planted by the river-side that just grows and grows.

So I received instruction. See yourself as a tree and the relationships (whichever) as the leaves and fruits. None of them is guaranteed or meant to remain with you forever. Don’t be like the creepy trees though, otherwise you get yanked off.

Each has its place in your life’s journey. All you need to do is ensure you are well grounded with the appropriate nutrients. Ensure you supply the needed arms of fellowship and support, so when the dry leaves fall off or the fruits get plucked, your root remains firm.

I will like to know your opinion on this relationship thought I just shared.

Much love & respect.
