Forgery as a Menace
How many issues of forgery would we uncover for us to handle the matter headon?
The recent information about the fake NYSC Certificate procured by Former Finance Minister has again reminded us of this monster!
I believe and so do management principles; that a principal is responsible for the actions of his/her agent. There4, to the extent that she engaged someone to procure the Clearance for her, whatever she obtained and the repercussions & benefits therefrom are her responsibilities.
However, in the matter before us, we must not loose sight of the bigger picture. That there is a cartel or syndicate engaged in forgery that needs to be apprehended and eliminated (at least brought to an insignificant level) to restore some sanity in our processes and procedures as well as our image.
She didn’t work alone. She got it from somewhere through somebody. Most staff of our Ministries and Agencies try to convince you that being straightforward and following procedures don’t work. They advice you to adopt the short cut. Often, you won’t know it’s fake documents they are giving you.
Let’s curb this.
